Chats with Tammy - March - Life Update
Life currently: Spring forward has kicked my butt!! Seriously, my body doesn’t know what is going on! I want to stay up super late but when I try to go to bed early I cannot shut down. Then the next morning I cannot wake up! I am on the struggle bus every morning and I have a hard time pulling myself outta the bed!
At the first of the month, I was flying back from a week long trip to Texas to see my family and friends. I had been so homesick that I really needed to go visit Texas. I went to Waco and of course visited Magnolia Market but also visited some smaller businesses. I feel like Waco has a lot of uncovered treasures of places to visit. Can’t wait to go back and discover more!
This past weekend was packed but my heart is so full! My 11 year old son is on a dance competition team and we had competition this weekend! As a mama, one of the greatest joys is seeing my son doing what he loves to do. He lights up so much on stage and he is so good at it!! Tears come to my eyes every time I watch him perform. His team did really well and I am so proud of all of them! They have worked really hard!
On Saturday night, my husband and I went on a last minute date in which we got tickets to see Francesca Battistelli! We had such a great time and it was much needed! I really love all Francesca’s songs and the message she stands for. On tour with her was Stars Go Dim and Elle Limebear, we loved both of them too! I have seen Stars Go Dim perform several years back but it was good to see them again. The lead singer spoke of a time when he felt that God was calling him to a season of rest so he took 6 months from ministry to regain focus and be with his family. He felt his identity got wrapped up in what he was doing instead of whose He is. He wrote a song all about this season of his life and it is called You Know Me Better.
This resonated with both my husband and I feel that we are in a season of rest because several months ago we had to say no to some really great things in order to focus on our family and to prepare us for the next season that God is calling us to. We too felt like our identity got wrapped up into what we were doing even though we are doing some really great things. It has been nice for us to take a season to rest and recharge.
On my calendar: The first of April (eek! next week!!) I am headed out to Connecticut for a few days for a quick girl’s trip with one of my closest friends. I am excited to get away for a bit and explore a new place!
Reading: If I Am Found! This is book 2 in the If I Run series. I am almost halfway through it and I cannot wait to share my review with you next month! I just posted my March book review which I review book 1 of this series. Check it out http://bit.ly/TWMLMARCHBOOKREVIEW (This is an affiliate link and if you click I make a small commission. This is my honest opinion of this book. My promise is to you as my reader is that I don’t recommend products for the sake of just making money. If I won’t recommend them to my bestie, then I don’t recommend them on here.)
Obsessing Over: My Air Fryer! I seriously love this and I have been experimenting and making all kinds of things in it. Before I got this as a birthday gift back in November, my Instant Pot was my go to kitchen gadget. I now use my air fryer more than my instant pot! This is the one I have - https://amzn.to/2WoXTaw . Listening To: Just Like Fire by Pink. Pink is my spirit animal and her songs are ones that I go to when I am needing some pump up music. I have been listening to her for a long time. I personally only listen to the clean songs and I stay away from the explicit versions.
Watching: A Million Little Things TV show - My husband and I are obsessed with this show! We literally can’t get enough of it. After each episode, we immediately want to watch the next one because the writers have done an incredible job of leaving you hanging at the end of each episode. I love that this show brings awareness to suicide and the effects that it has on family and friends. I have been personally been touched by suicide and I know a lot of people have. I feel that this show is timely where suicide is an epidemic in our society. This show also covers a wide range of topics that happen in life.
Alright friend, this wraps up the month of the March over here!! What are you loving right now? I want to know! Leave a comment!
