“The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.” Isaiah 58:11
The Lord gave me this verse a couple of weeks ago and I have been meditating on it since then. I feel that the Lord is saying through this verse that He is always guiding me in every step I take and even though I am uncertain of the path, He is there.
I have lately been feeling really dry spiritually and it is because I haven’t spent that much time with God. I have let the busyness of life get in the way and I get to the end of the day wondering where did my day go.
Mamas, I know you can relate!! But the good news is that when we take the time to drink the living water by being in the Word and spending time with God, He will quench that thirst but it’s not only a quenching of thirst but He will make us like an ever-flowing spring.
After the Lord gave me this verse, the next day my family and I went on a hike. We love to hike and now that the weather is warmer we try to go every chance we get. We came across this stream that was underneath a rock covering. It was about the middle of our hike so we sat down by it. This verse came to my mind and as I was looking around God showed me that the spring is thriving, everything that is living around it is not just surviving but thriving.
He spoke to me that when I allow my spirit to be like an ever-flowing spring by His living water not only am I the one who is thriving but everyone that is around me is thriving as well. I want my life to look like that! I realize that there is so much health and life that comes out of me making it a priority to spend time with the Lord and allow Him to be the one to quench my thirst.
When I allow the things of this world to try to quench my thirst I am always thirsty shortly after and it never truly satisfies because it isn’t meant to. Only the Lord can satisfy that yearning inside and make dry bones come alive.
Can you imagine a beautiful spring that never runs dry? If we made the decision to drink the living water that God has every day, how would that change our lives? For me, I know I would have more peace and less anxiety because I would be able to clear out the unnecessary noise so that I can hear from Him more.
Have you been exhausted, running around juggling your life and feeling dry spiritually? I challenge you (as I challenge myself) to spend some time with the Father today and allow Him to make you like a well-watered garden which in turn will sprout up beautiful fruit.
I want to hear from you!! Let me know how God is working in your life and what He is speaking to you by leaving a comment below!
